Dehradun is a home to artists of variomus kind, one such unique artist is Reena Agarwal, with a Diploma in Commercial Art she started painting at the age of seven. But it is not painting that makes her different from others, it is a new kind of artwork done with nib and knife on velvet.It is oil based and sketched free hand on velvet with white pencil as the base is usually in dark colour.She has hosted exhibition in Dehradun, Mussoorie, Delhi and Bombay. Reena @artistmagic_7 is a Principal by profession and believes that art is the most beautiful way of expression and painting is a therapy that keeps your mind , body and soul in harmony . Reena quotes “I always loved European art and thus started to replicate paintings of the European culture in my style. I painted them on velvet without using brush. I use a palette knife for spreading the colours and a nib for the details which is unique in its own way. My husband has been very motivating in taking art as passion, he loved my work and has been a constant support in curating exhibitions. I have conducted various workshops to teach people this painting style and I am glad to share that whoever has learnt this unique style of painting from me has loved it :) It’s my pleasure to be able to share some of my artworks with the you all.
