Ridhima Batra – Author | TEDx Speaker | Mental Health Advocate | Founder of Empathy Wellness Foundation
Ridhima Batra is a mental health advocate, TEDx speaker, and the dynamic founder of the Empathy Wellness Foundation — a global initiative committed to spreading emotional wellness, resilience, and hope. Her story is one of remarkable transformation: from battling depression and societal pressure to becoming a voice for thousands navigating mental and emotional challenges.
In 2014, Ridhima made the life-altering decision to walk away from engineering — a path society expected of her — and instead chose to listen to the quiet voice within. What followed was a personal breakdown that led to suicidal thoughts, but also ignited a mission. At just 18, she delivered her first session at a school, sharing her raw, honest story — and in doing so, found her calling.
Today, she has conducted over 5000+ sessions across 10+ countries, impacting more than 20,000 lives through mental health campaigns, school and college programs, corporate wellness initiatives, food and hug drives, and storytelling platforms.
Ridhima is also the co-founder of Ridhara Mindcare Pvt Ltd, a purpose-driven company she started with her mother to create tangible mental wellness products and provide employment to homemakers — enabling women to rewrite their stories and start their second innings.
As an author, Ridhima has penned two heartfelt books — Unexpected Hope and Unexpected Hope Part 2 — which delve into the themes of self-worth, healing, and rediscovering purpose. Her books, much like her sessions, are a reflection of her deep belief that your pain can become someone else’s survival guide.
Her work has been recognized by major media outlets and has earned her invitations to speak at global stages including TEDx, Global Peace Chain, and numerous international youth forums. She continues to challenge stigma, create safe spaces for conversation, and inspire people of all ages to embrace empathy and healing.
Ridhima’s journey is not just about overcoming — it’s about leading with love, building communities of care, and making sure no one feels alone in their struggle.
